It was not an American Idol show. Taylor Swift is the voice of this generation – thus the words of Big Machine Records CEO Scott Borchetta, in defense to the backlash received by the Album of the Year winner during her performance at this year’s Grammy’s.

Taylor Swift, the singer of “Love Story” was hit by technical problems during her performance of the song Today Was A Fairytale. The Big Machine Records CEO said there was a problem with the ear, and that Taylor Swift wasn’t able to hear everything in the mix.

Critics were quick to claim that Taylor Swift was off-key and that it also appeared that her performance with Stevie Nicks was apparently under-rehearsed.

Borchetta added: “It’s that classic thing that critics do of building something up and then wanting to tear it down.”
